This time of year begs for lots of little treats and more time to make them. This is a no fuss appetizer that will please the crowds, your wallet and your time! They are a cousin to the Cheddar Crab Muffins that Linda blogged earlier this year…
Sausage Cheese Bread Bites
1 lb Italian sausage
1 cup mayonnaise
1 stick melted butter
1 Tbs Dijon mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
2 5 oz jars Kraft Old English Cheddar Spread
1 1/2 packages wheat English muffins
Split all the muffins in half. Cook the sausage, breaking it up as you cook it. In a mixing bowl add the mayonnaise, melted butter, mustard, garlic, pepper and cheese spread. Add the cooked sausage to the mixing bowl and mix everything together. Spoon evenly on the halved muffins, (about 2 tablespoons each). Freeze on a cookie sheet for 30 minutes. Cut each muffin into 6 pieces and re-freeze in a zip lock bag. When you are ready to eat, pop in under the broiler for about 8 minutes! Delicious!!!
Enjoy!
