We’ve been cutting back on burgers but every once in a while you just crave one…this one’s topped with brown sugar bacon and sharp provolone…a nice combination! And since it’s turkey it’s got to be just a wee bit healthier…Right?!
Brown Sugar Bacon & Sharp Provolone Turkey Burgers
6 slices center cut bacon
3 teaspoons brown sugar
1 1/2 lb ground turkey
1 tablespoon McCormick Brown Sugar Bourbon seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
fresh ground pepper
Sharp Provolone cheese, sliced
4 fresh burger buns
butter
Heat oven to 400Β°F. Lay bacon on a broiler pan with rack and sprinkle each slice with 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar. Bake in heated oven 10-12 minutes until crisp. Meanwhile combine the ground turkey, seasoning, salt & pepper. Form into four patties. Cook burgers 4-5 minutes on each side; laying the Sharp Provolone cheese on top during the last two minutes of cooking. Butter the burger buns and heat in oven until slightly toasted. Place the cheesy turkey burgers on the toasted buns and top each with one and a half slices of the brown sugar bacon. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.
Enjoy!
