It’s Burger Time! I recently saw a Garlic-Sautéed Mushroom Burger on a SmashBurger menu and knew I had to make it…I used ground chicken and spices…sautéed the mushrooms along with some garlic and melted aged Swiss cheese on top….another winner!
Garlic-Sautéed Mushroom Chicken Burger
3 garlic cloves
8 oz package fresh cremini mushrooms, cleaned and sliced thin
extra virgin olive oil
salt & fresh ground pepper
2 lbs ground chicken
1-2 teaspoons McCormick Grill Mates Molasses Bacon Seasoning
Aged Swiss cheese, sliced
mayonnaise (as desired)
4-6 cracked wheat rolls, sliced
Peel the garlic cloves and mince. Add some extra virgin olive oil and the sliced mushrooms into a skillet. Sauté 8 minutes. Meanwhile, place half of the minced garlic, the ground chicken, seasoning, salt & fresh ground pepper in a mixing bowl and combine gently. Shape into 4-6 burgers (depending on the size burger you desire). Set aside. Add the remaining half of the minced garlic to the skillet with the mushrooms and sauté another minute or two. Remove from skillet into a bowl and cover with aluminum foil. Place chicken burgers in same skillet and cook 6 minutes on each side. Place aged Swiss cheese slices on each burger and allow to melt slightly. Toast the cracked wheat rolls and slather with mayonnaise. Layer the buns with the chicken burgers and top with the garlic-sautéed mushrooms. Serves 4-6.
Enjoy!

My thinking exactly, Bernadette – even better eaten with a knife and fork for me (I’d need a bib! lol)
Thanks for sharing on the Senior Salon, Linda. NOW – when are you coming to a kitchen near me (as in VERY near me)? 🙂

Maybe we could convince Linda to invite to lunch.

She’s already done so. I warned her to expect a knock on her door when she least expects it!
