Ground turkey is like a chameleon to me… I call it the carnivores ‘tofu’. What is nice about this healthy meat is the way you can make it taste like anything you want. Today I was in the mood for something Asian and I had turkey burgers on the menu… so with a quick scan of my on hand Asian ingredients I kept with the menu and filled my craving too. My hubby was pleasantly surprised with this moist and flavorful spin on this turkey burger…
Asian Turkey Burger
1 lb ground turkey
1 Tbs of each
*Hoisin Sauce
*Soy Sauce
*Chili Garlic Sauce
*Sesame Oil
In a mixing bowl, mix ground turkey with sauces and oil. Form turkey into patties and heat 1 tbs of olive oil in a skillet. Cook ground turkey for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until turkey is cooked through (this will depend on the size and thickness of your burgers).
Red Onion-Iceberg Slaw
1 large red onion halved and sliced thin
1 1/2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup cucumbers julienned
2 Tbs sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup toasted sesame seeds
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and set aside.
Assemble turkey burger on the roll of your choosing. Add a 1/2 cup of the red onion-iceberg slaw to top of the burger.
Enjoy!

I could just eat a huge bowl of that slaw alone 🙂

I usually use cabbage, but I didn’t have any and as I said in the blog I used what I had on hand. It was very good.
