Fall off the bone good, I just love how really great this dish is. It packs a real meaty punch, is tender and makes a great gravy. Paired with classic fluffy mashed potatoes it feels like comfort has come knocking.
Simple Braised Short Ribs & Gravy
6 short ribs
1 onion roughly diced
1 small bag baby carrots
1 can beef consommé
1/2 cup water
salt & pepper
Heat the oven to 325°F. Generously salt and pepper the short ribs. Place the onions and carrots at the bottom of a dutch oven or roasting pan that has a lid. Place the short ribs on top of the carrots and onions. Add the consommé and water to the bottom of the pan. Cover. Place the pan in the oven and cook for 1 and a half to two hours; turning at least twice. Add liquid as needed. Simple and Delicious!
