Super simple…Great to have in the freezer for the holidays and a much better version than regular mozzarella sticks. If you’re having guests this is a great appetizer. Serve with a little garlic aioli or marinara.
Warm Spiced Mozzarella On Toast
1 lb pre-sliced fresh BelGioioso Mozzarella Cheese Slices
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 egg beaten
1 Tbs canned evaporated milk
Season the flour with the cayenne, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Whisk the egg and canned milk together with a little salt & pepper. Dredge the mozzarella slice in the flour then the egg mixture and back into the flour. Place on a plate or cutting board that fits into your freezer. In about 20 minutes you can cook or place in a zip lock bag for a later time. This is a good time to toast your bread slices in the oven for about 10 minutes at 375°F. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the cheese for 2 – 3 minutes on each side. Season with a little more salt and serve with the toast. Delicious!!!
