I like to eat Turkey Burgers, but they need a little help with moisture and flavor. This summer I’m going to experiment with ground turkey so here we go…this combo had the perfect amount of spice, salt & sweet with a lovely glaze that forms as you cook it. The Broccoli Wasabi Slaw was quick, healthy and delicious!
Hoisin Plum Sauce Turkey Burgers With Broccoli Wasabi Slaw
1 Lb ground turkey 85/15
1/8 cup Hoisin sauce
1/8 cup plum sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp white pepper
Broccoli Wasabi Slaw
1 broccoli head stalks only
1/2 sweet onion
1/2 cup sour cream
1 Tbs soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp Wasabi ((+) if you want it more hot).
In a food processor, add the broccoli stalks and sweet onion. Pulse a few times until you reach the consistency you want. Remove the puree into a bowl and add the sour cream, soy sauce, sesame oil and Wasabi. Refrigerate while you make the Burgers.
In a separate bowl mix the ground turkey, Hoisin sauce, plum sauce, sesame oil and white pepper. Form the turkey into 4 to 6 patties depending on the size you like your burgers and heat a cast iron skillet to medium-hi. In a Tablespoon of oil cook the burgers for 5 to 6 minutes per side. Serve on your favorite bun with the broccoli Wasabi slaw. Delicious!
Enjoy!

I love the darker color the Hoisin sauce gives the turkey, often turkey burgers look a little pale. I will have to try this, bet they have wonderful flavor.
