Who doesn’t just love Barbecue Ribs…these ribs are easy to make at home and perfect for Thursday game night. I always serve them with a big salad (to get in a lot of greens) and lots of wet naps! My Hubby says they have a real kick, so if you don’t like too much spice, just omit the cayenne pepper or add a little less cayenne and a little more brown sugar.
Country Style Dry & Wet Barbecue Pork Ribs
8-10 boneless pork country ribs
Dry Rub
1 Tbs cumin
1 Tbs smoked paprika
1 Tbs granulated garlic
1 Tbs granulated onion
2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbs brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 Tbs chili powder
1 Tbs oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Heat oven to 450° with your roasting pan lightly spayed with cooking spray in it. Mix the dry rub and dredge the pork through the rub coating it on all sides. When the oven has reached its temperature, pull out the roasting pan and place the country ribs in the hot pan. Return the pan to the oven and drop the temperature to 250°. Cook for 30 minutes then remove to turn the pieces over. Return to the oven and continue cooking for 30 more minutes. In the meantime, start on the barbecue sauce.
Barbecue Sauce
4 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 Tbs butter
1/2 cup water
3 Tbs cider vinegar
2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1/2 lemon juiced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup ketchup
1 Tbs smoked paprika
1 Tbs cinnamon
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1 cup orange juice
salt & pepper
Heat the butter in a cast iron skillet. Add the garlic and onions and cook until they begin to caramelize. Begin to add the rest of the ingredients and stir; cooking for about 10 minutes. After the pork has finished cooking the additional 30 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and generously coat all sides with the barbecue sauce. Return to the oven and reduce the heat to 225°. Cook another 30 minutes and repeat the last step 2 more times. When ready they are tender and have an nice crust on the outside…messy and delicious!!!
Enjoy!
