Who wants a burger? Not just any burger but a juicy jerk pork burger? With crispy bacon and a different take on slaw? This burger is the one to try.
Jerk Pork Burgers
2 lbs ground pork
1 1/2 tablespoons jerk seasoning (see below)
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
8 slices maple bacon
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
4 crusty rolls
Heat oven to broil. In a large bowl combine the ground pork with the jerk seasoning and syrup. Shape into four burgers. Place on a roasting pan and broil 8 minutes each side. Prepare the bacon (either broil bacon alongside the burgers in the oven for about 3-4 minutes each side or cook stovetop). Meanwhile, prepare the apple slaw (below). Remove the burgers from the oven. Butter the rolls and pop in the oven for a minute to toast. Serve the burgers on the toasted rolls topped with bacon and apple slaw…Enjoy!
