Chicken A La Princess

I named this after me… My Hubby calls me Princess, so I always feel like one. Anyway, when Linda and I were growing up our mother used to make chicken a la king. It wasn’t my favorite, but I always loved the Popovers she would make with them. Although I’ve never had success with popovers before, I finally found out why one day when I was checking out Food Wishes… Don’t preheat the oven! Now I can make popovers with confidence and gusto! So with that in hand, I set out to make a chicken A La something that I would like, so here it is! Chicken A La Princess… Continue reading

Talk about comfort food… I am in love with this soup! Hearty and light, simple and delicious! I used spinach to finish it off this time because that’s what I had, but you can use escarole for a little crunch. You can also add chicken and tomatoes if you don’t want to use ham. I seriously recommend giving this soup a try… Oh, by the way it’s always better the next day.

Pepperoni & Cheese Soft Pretzels

When I lived in Philadelphia I would go almost every day to a corner vendor for a Philly soft pretzel for lunch. I’m sure it wasn’t the best thing to do, but it certainly fit my college budget! I sometimes get the hankering for a good homemade soft pretzel. Today I made them a little different. I added pepperoni and cheese!!! Serve with some cheese dip and a little marinara and you have pizza in a pretzel. You can also make little bite size pieces which would be great for your upcoming Super Bowl Party!!  Continue reading

Country Ham With A Rum And Coke Glaze

Talk about good! Every year at Christmas my Hubby gets an enormous whole ‘bone-in’ ham from one of his clients. This year I decided to make a little different glaze than the standard brown sugar kind. I know lots of you probably already cook your ham with coke, but I always used ginger ale. Well, not this time… this time I used rum and coke. It was very good! Continue reading
