Bizcocho de Caramelo

My husband was in the mood for something sweet – so he says to me, “I want a Bizcocho!” Now, I’ve been married to this man for over thirty years and not once have I heard of this ‘Bizcocho’. “What is that?”, I replied. “It’s a cake”, he says. A cake that he used to get at a little bakery around the corner from his house growing up. No wonder I didn’t have a clue what it was – but after a little research I found that ‘Bizcocho’ is actually a word that applies to many sweet desserts; cake, cupcakes, cookies…basically anything sweet sold at a bakery!
