This was the perfect breakfast to surprise my Hubby with this morning. It’s an easy and impressive way to serve a treat to the ones you love. Dutch pancakes take a little time to prepare and can be served a thousand ways. Made to be savory or sweet, today I made it with a lemon curd butter and a peach compote my mom made. Instead of making one big one which is the norm, I made 4 individual ones in my 6″ little cast iron skillets. Drizzle with the curd butter, top with powdered sugar and put a little fruit compote on the side! Continue reading
We have a wonderful Greek restaurant in our area that serves truly delicious food…Estia Taverna in Marlton is a restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone who asked…they have a Greek Salad on the menu that is made of the simplest ingredients…ripe tomatoes, sliced green peppers & cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, marinated green & black olives and fresh feta…all combined in a simple vinaigrette…boy does it pack a powerful flavor punch…Summer is the perfect time to pick up these same ingredients at your local farmer’s market and make it fresh in your own kitchen…here’s how… Continue reading

Who doesn’t love Hummus?! It’s like a meal and a snack! I read somewhere that making your own beans from dried is so much better for you so I started to make my own – starting with chickpeas. The crock pot is essential for this task and if you start them before you go to bed they’re done by morning. I store them and use them for all kinds of wonderful dishes…Hummus of course being the #1 motivation. Continue reading
We recently purchased a small charcoal grill to test the difference between gas and charcoal. I’m really impressed with the flavor impact a charcoal grill makes on food…especially when using a hardwood charcoal such as Cowboy brand (can be found at Lowes). I also bought Weber’s New Real Grilling Cookbook – and have made a few of the recipes. They’ve turned out so well (even with a little tweaking) that I would highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who loves to grill! On today’s menu are Swordfish & Pepper Kabobs…these flavorful bites are marinated in a creamy Dijon concoction and skewered with hearty red and green peppers then grilled for a quick and very healthy meal… Continue reading
One of the best things about summer is corn on the cob! So sweet…so delicious. Today’s corn on the cob was charred on the grill then slathered in a creamy sauce and topped with a Mexican flare… Continue reading

This is a great soup to make in a hurry that is sure to impress. Not just the same old mushroom soup – this version is full of flavor with a smooth texture and a hint of Sherry. So simple and so fast!!! Continue reading
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine. They love mixing sweet with savory and by combining these flavors you get something really unique…on today’s menu is a pork dish inspired by the flavors of Morocco. Pork is not the usual meat in Morocco…lamb, beef, chicken and fish are very popular there but I’ve spiced up some pork instead! Come along with me to Morocco… Continue reading

Linda and I are only two of three sisters. Our third sister is the dip master – as in she loves to make dips. She has her go-to dips as we all do and this Reuben Dip is one of them… Sort of…??? Actually, I changed it because I was taking it to an outdoor pool party and I didn’t want to ask the hostess if I could use her oven on a hot day to heat my dip. This got me thinking of how I could make it in a way that it could just stay hot without putting out the hostess. By starting with the base of a Bechamel I was able to keep it warm for a long time and still have a consistent texture. It worked great and was a hit at the party! Sometimes you just have to think outside the box! Continue reading
