I’ve had versions of this dish in restaurants, but it’s the kind of dish that if you can’t find it and you want it you have to make it. Dipping lobster in butter is one thing, plucking it out of butter and cheese is a whole other experience! If you get the chance, give it a go… It’s worth it!
Lobster & Shrimp Mac & Cheese
1 lb lobster meat frozen, cooked
1 lb large or medium shrimp, cooked for one minute in boiling water
1 lb American cheese, grated
1 tsp old bay
1/2 cup Swiss cheese, grated
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp celery salt
1 lb orzo pasta, cooked according to box directions
1/2 onion, diced and sauté until tender
1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
3 Tbs butter
Bechamel Sauce
3 Tbs butter
2 Tbs flour
1 Pt heavy cream + 1 cup of whole milk
salt & pepper
Heat the oven to 325°F. In a sauce pan, melt the butter on medium heat then add the flour; stirring until you make a paste. Next add the milk and cream and reduce the heat to low until the liquid is warm. Add the cheese, seasonings and cooked onions and mix until everything is incorporated. Add the cooked pasta and the shrimp and lobster. Pour everything into a baking dish and top with fresh parsley. Top at the end with 3 Tbs of melted butter (Optional)….Bake for 20 minutes then serve. Very Rich and Delicious!
Enjoy!

I seriously love lobster! This reminds me of when we hosted our lobster bake this summer. I wrote a post about it. It was a blast! (https://dawnwairimu.com/2017/09/22/lobster-bake/)

If you just used the shrimp it would also be delicious! I used both for this one.

An extra hour on the treadmill for this little dish. I have to admit the shrimp was even better than the lobster!
