Chicken Wings Three Ways

chicken-wings-three-ways
My son just loves chicken wings!!! As a typical teenager he is always hungry too! So today I made his favorite wings, my favorite wings and a new one for us to try. I always buy the Organic Free Range wings because I know where they are coming from. Once the cheapest part of the chicken it is now the most expensive part…go figure! Baked to perfection and not fried, these little bites are a real treat for game days or for an after school snack.

Chicken Wings Three Ways
24 wings

PB&J Sauce
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup grape jelly
1 Tbs Apple cider vinegar
Heat all the ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk together until smooth. Set aside.

Rum And Coke Glaze
2 cans of coke
1/2 cup rum
2 Tbs Dijon mustard
1 limes (juice and zest)
1/2 tsp pepper
Add the cans of coke, the rum, Dijon mustard, lime zest and juice in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer on the stove, Cook on low for about 20 minutes until the sauce reduces and becomes a glaze. Set aside.

Dry Rub
I used Weber Kansas City BBQ rub this time.

Heat the oven to 350°F. Toss the wings in some olive oil and season with salt & pepper. Lay out the wings on a sheet pan making sure they don’t touch. Bake for one hour or until crispy. Divide the wings and toss in the  mixtures; coating the wings completely. Great for game night! Delicous!

Enjoy!

  1. PB&J one looks and sounds very interesting. I haven’t ever tried the combination. I would love to try it Heidi.

  2. Miam! The BBQ and Rum and Coke wings are right up my street!

I bought an Organic roasting hen today for Easter Sunday’s dinner. OMG! I had sticker shock when I looked at the price per pound! Really? With so many people eating organic now in California it still costs this much for a hen? Really?
It’s a good thing I eat mostly vegetarian cause this price would break the bank on a weekly basis! It better be moist and flavorful Easter Sunday or there will be a repercussions. Just sayin!

    1. How did the million dollar hen taste? They aren’t too expensive here in PA… Wegmans store chain is committed to finding the best local and organic farmers. I even know where my chickens come from. I also have a farmer who will raise pigs and cows for you. He is committed to a healthy life for his animals right up to the end. The meat really is better.
