Linda and I were at a wedding in South Carolina this past July… One of the appetizers that was served there was this perfect little bite that you see here. I must have eaten at least five of them so that I could decipher what was in it. I recreated it today and I believe I hit the mark. My Hubby and I loved it and it is definitely one I will be making again soon!

Soy Wonton Crackers With Ahi Tuna And Wasabi Aioli
1 Ahi Tuna
6 wonton wrappers
2 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs toasted sesame seeds
1 tsp wasabi paste
2 Tbs mayonnaise
1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
1/4 cup olive oil + 2 Tbs

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Season the tuna with salt & pepper and sear on each side for about 1 minute, then remove from the heat and set aside.

In a shallow pan heat the 1/4 cup of oil. Cut the wontons in half diagonally, dredge through the soy sauce and fry two at a time in the oil until crispy, turning once. Remove from the oil when crispy and set on a paper towel.  Mix the mayonnaise, wasabi and ginger together with a splash of soy. Assemble the wontons, then the mayo and top with a slice of the Ahi tuna. Sprinkle with some sesame seeds and eat…Delicious!

Enjoy!
