It’s Burger Night! I was in the mood for something different…something fancy…so I came up with a combination of flavors that hit the spot. Think Applewood smoked bacon, Havarti cheese and Fig jam…doesn’t that sound delicious? Well, it was! And you can make it too…here’s how to do it…
Artisan Burgers
1 lb lean ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
1 teaspoon freeze-dried chives (or fresh if you have it)
1 teaspoon salt
8 slices Applewood smoked bacon
8 slices Havarti cheese
1/2 cup Fig spread (Bonne Maman Purple Fig Spread)
4 crusty rolls
4 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
8 Arugula leaves (or desired salad greens)
In a medium bowl, mix the ground beef with the seasonings. Set aside while you cook up the bacon nice and crisp. Shape seasoned lean beef into 4 burgers. Heat a large skillet over high heat; spray on a little cooking spray. Cook burgers 4-5 minutes on each side. Warm up your crusty rolls in the oven while burgers are cooking.
To assemble Artisan Burgers: Spread a little mayonnaise on warm rolls; layer with burgers, 2 leaves Arugula, two slices Havarti, two slices Applewood smoked bacon, 1-2 tablespoons Fig Spread, and top with bun. Bite into these scrumptiously different Artisan Burgers.
Artisan Burgers has been shared on Throwback Thursday, FiestaFriday, FoodieFriDiy, FoodieFriendsFriday, Senior Salon, and Saucy Saturdays, . Go check it out and see many more awesome recipes and ideas!
Enjoy!

Thanks Sheryl! I recently had a Panini with prosciutto & brie with a fig spread and decided the fig spread would be great on a burger – turns out it was!! 🙂 🙂
