Chicken & Beef Fajita Burgers

In the mood for a burger? We love to try different kinds of burgers. These burgers are an ode to the fajita! Juicy and delicious (although I have to admit that the chicken burger is my favorite). If you like you can sauté onions and peppers and top the burgers to enhance the fajita flavor…

Chicken & Beef Fajita Burgers
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried cilantro
1/2 tablespoon grill seasoning (such as McCormick’s)
1 lb ground beef
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried thyme or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (I use fresh!)
extra virgin olive oil
3 slices cheddar cheese, 3 slices Monterey Jack cheese
bacon (optional)
6 burger buns

To the ground chicken, add the chili powder, cilantro & grill seasoning. Shape into 3 burgers. To the ground beef, add the chili powder, cumin & thyme. Shape into 3 burgers. Heat a grill pan (or use your outside grill) until nice and hot. Drizzle pan with olive oil. Cook burgers 5 minutes each side. Meanwhile, prepare the bacon if using (who doesn’t love bacon on their burgers?) Prepare burger buns as desired and top with burgers, cheese, bacon and your desired condiments, such as mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and onion.

Enjoy!
